Due to the outstanding advantages of light deadweight and high spanning capacity, corrugated steel web-concrete combination bridges have been widely used in newly-built bridges, and the mechanical properties of their shear connection members have become the focus of research in recent years. In this paper, two kinds of specimens, namely bolted connection shear key and PBL shear key, were designed respectively and subjected to veneer insertion test to compare the mechanical properties of the two kinds of shear connectors in terms of force characteristics, damage morphology and other aspects. Results show that the failure pattern of bolted shear key and PBL shear key are brittle damage and ductile damage. The PBL shear bond has significant improvement in load carrying capacity and ductility over the bolted shear bond.
